DNF. Got halfway through before giving up. I had such high hopes (a Jewish historical heroine! who loves astronomy!!) but everything was superficial. Besides their overly Jewish names, nothing about them was Jewish at all besides the written claim that they were, in fact, Jewish. They were regular historical romance characters with nothing unique. I didn't believe the romance in the slightest; it was totally contrived and I didn't think they had chemistry at all. Basically, I was being told that they were compelled toward each other but I wasn't feeling it at all. When I got tired of being lectured about how 'madcap' the family is (ooookay, if you say so) and how much the hero was drawn to the heroine (again, because the author says so), I gave up. Sorry to say I didn't enjoy it at all. Giving two stars for the attempt at diversity and intelligent heroes, but it fell way short. This author has a lot of potential but a long way to go before she has a cohesive story to tell that will move people deeply.Product details

Olivia Kelly did a good job with mixing a little social awareness with romance. Miriam is an American Jewess and intellectual with a love of astronomy. Leo an English aristocrat and son of an Earl with no apparent ambition. Together they make an unlikely pair but there is a definite chemistry. It was fun to see the relationship grow and Leo mature. The references to the social prejudice against Jews and woman as anything other than a man's possession added depth to the story. I found Miriam's sisters interesting and I'd be interested in reading their stories.
short & sweet. would love to read more in this world -- maybe the author will write her sisters' stories? I used 's "follow this author" button in case she does.
An adorable story, and it was so nice to see a Jewish family in a Regency historical.
This was a sweet story -- I liked Leo and Miriam. It was nice to read about a Jewish family in this time period. I am anxious to read books about the other sisters.
A great little Regency romance with a Jewish heroine who just wants to study the stars and a hero who realizes he wants more from life and want he wants is a life with her.

This novel could have been more robust but every thing here is well done.
This was a really sweet story - one I definitely enjoyed for the period details and the blast of a set of Jewish sisters scandalizing society. I honestly would have enjoyed a longer book - the novella format made the romance a little rushed for me, but honestly that was my only complaint. I'll definitely be checking out more books in the series!
