Don't be fooled by the sedate sounding title of this book. Unless you are a meteorology aficionado, you might not even know (as I did not) that it refers to Hurricane Lenny---a dissipating tropical storm back in 1999 that suddenly develops into a Category 4 hurricane just hours before landfall. The central characters are a husband and wife with a troubled marriage seeking to recapture the spark on a peaceful, leisurely Caribbean sailing vacation. It is anything but. They meet up with Lenny, and the plot takes off, injecting a colorful and diverse supporting cast of characters on land, sea and air. Thankfully, there are no villains. The author builds excitement by effectively alternating between the perspectives of the couple and their captain caught at sea, the military crew who fly directly and dangerously into the hurricane, and those who remain helpless on the ground. As a bonus, you get an education along the way. A proverbial page-turner that might even make a better screenplay than it is a book. Don't wait for the movie though---grab this one now.Product details

This book reads like a mini movie in your head. The host of characters became real for me. The book is laced with humor, wit & drama that the average reader can relate to. It is full of suspense and excitement that will leave you breathless & wanting more.............
This tale of a mighty hurricane and the characters affected by it is a true wonder. Every detail of the work is polished and believable, and every character inspires that wonderful feeling that you could know them as your friends. Skip Hollingsworth is an amazingly talented author, one I am proud to call my friend.
This was an excellent story, with interesting characters and fast-paced action. It had just enough detail that one felt like you were included in the adventure with the characters. I learned a lot about hurricanes, sailboats, and airplanes too! It would make a great movie!
$19.76 for the Edition of this book is unacceptable. What are publishers charging so much for? They're not using ink...they're not using paper...there are no man hours involved...it's greed. What happened to the promised $9.99 books? , you can't do anything about this?? I realize not every book can be $9.99, but there's a growing trend of e-books being priced higher and higher. You roped me into buying a with tales of $9.99, now you're raising prices. Classic bait and switch...shame on you and shame on the publishers.
